Prohibited Content

Products, services, or claims that Meta bans from advertising outright, regardless of context or disclaimers.

Prohibited content covers categories Meta will not allow to be advertised under any circumstance — items like illegal drugs, weapons, and certain adult products fall here, distinct from 'restricted content,' which can be advertised but only with specific licensing, certification, or targeting limitations in place.

For agencies working across nutra, iGaming, and crypto, knowing the line between prohibited and restricted is the first compliance filter applied to any new offer, since a prohibited product can never be made compliant no matter how the ad or landing page is adjusted.
