Policy Violation

An instance where an ad, Page, or account is found to break one of Meta's Advertising Standards.

A policy violation is recorded whenever Meta determines an ad, its targeting, or its landing page breaks one of the rules in the Advertising Standards, covering everything from prohibited products to misleading claims to circumventing systems. Violations are tracked against the ad account and the associated Business Manager, and they accumulate toward restrictions or disables if repeated.

Agencies in higher-risk verticals build a pre-flight compliance check into their creative process specifically to catch likely violations before they're submitted, since even a disapproved ad that never spent a dollar still counts against the account's compliance history.
