Before-and-After Policy

A restriction on health and wellness ads showing unrealistic or exaggerated transformation imagery.

Meta restricts before-and-after imagery in health, weight loss, and cosmetic ad categories when it implies an unrealistic or guaranteed outcome, particularly when the transformation is idealized or the comparison exaggerates results. Some before-after content is allowed if it's realistic and not misleading, but many nutra and fitness creative concepts run into this limit.

Agencies working nutra offers typically test creative concepts that focus on ingredients, mechanism of action, or testimonials rather than dramatic transformation imagery, since the latter carries a materially higher disapproval and account-risk rate.
