Meta Shares How Small Businesses Use Muse on Their Ads

By the Power Ads operators21 Oct 20262 min read

Meta has shared new examples of how small businesses use Muse, its AI agent, and the most common request is reviewing Meta ad performance. Since late September, Muse for Small Business in the US and Canada can connect to Meta ad accounts, Facebook Pages and Instagram analytics alongside tools like Shopify and Canva. Meta still hasn't published exactly what the agent is allowed to change inside an ad account.

What Meta shared

According to Social Media Today, Meta sent out a list of popular Muse use cases in mid-October. The top one is analysing which campaigns work and which don't, with prompts like asking Muse to identify the highest-performing ads and explain why. The second is planning campaign structure from a creative brief.

The third is an automated workflow: businesses link Muse's Meta Ads connector to Shopify, Canva and HighLevel so the agent reviews products, picks a creative angle and builds ads from that brief. Meta also says businesses use Muse to set up product catalogs and install pixel tracking.

What Muse can reach

Muse for Small Business launched on September 29 with 15 third-party connectors, including Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, Klaviyo, HighLevel, Canva, Figma, Notion and Slack, plus three Meta surfaces: Facebook Pages, Instagram professional analytics and Meta ad accounts. It is limited to the US and Canada.

Meta's stated safeguard is that nothing publishes, sends or spends without the owner's approval. As PPC Land points out, Meta has not said whether ad account access is read-only, or whether the agent can change budgets, bids, targeting or creative once a user approves.

Who it affects

The pitch is aimed at owner-operators without a media buyer. For agencies and affiliates, the immediate impact is on client accounts: a client who connects Muse to an ad account you also manage adds another actor that can propose and, once approved, make changes. Pixel or catalog setups done through an agent also need checking against your own event mapping.

What to do

Agree with clients who has authority to approve agent-made changes, and watch the account activity history for edits you didn't make. If Muse installed or changed a pixel, confirm the events still fire once and match your optimisation event.

  • Ask clients whether they have connected Muse to the ad account.
  • Review Ads Manager activity history weekly during Q4.
  • Re-verify pixel and catalog setups that an agent touched.

What it means for you

  • Ad performance analysis is the top Muse request, according to Meta.
  • Muse can connect to Meta ad accounts in the US and Canada.
  • Meta hasn't detailed what the agent can edit once a change is approved.
  • Agencies should agree approval rules with clients who connect it.
