Meta Pixel

A JavaScript snippet placed on a website that reports visitor behavior and conversions back to Meta.

The Meta Pixel is a small piece of code installed on a website that fires events — page views, add-to-carts, purchases, leads — back to Meta whenever a visitor takes that action, allowing campaigns to be optimized toward and measured against real on-site behavior. It relies on the visitor's browser to send data, which makes it vulnerable to ad blockers, browser privacy restrictions, and cleared cookies.

Because browser-based tracking alone has become increasingly unreliable since iOS 14's App Tracking Transparency changes, the Pixel is now almost always paired with server-side Conversions API events reporting the same actions from a source that isn't subject to browser blocking, improving overall measurement completeness.
